Still hanging in there...

Yup I'm still around. I will say I haven't exactly been that great at not spending money. We've eaten out (at my safe places) quite a bit, and so that's been hurting me, I need to crack down on it. However, I'm pleased with myself for not having touched a bit of savings. I'm still putting $50 a paycheck (so $100 a month) in there and thats SO rare for me! So I'm happy about that, just need to buckle down in other ways so that this summer/early fall won't be rough. I have such a vicious cycle most years. We get bonuses in October, so I do great right til the holidays. And I'm usually broke after the new year. Then we get tax returns early February and I do great for a few months but then come summer I'm strapped again and it just keeps going on and on. But not this year. I almost NEVER have money in savings so this is a huge help, but I need it to grow as quickly and reasonably as possible, so I have that. Here's hoping.

I won't be around much

With everything going on weight-wise, I really need to concentrate on that. http://dailybdizzle.blogspot.com if you haven't read it yet. And I need to be able to suspend the eating rules of this frugal year. So I won't be failing when I decide to not eat at home, but at least eat somewhere healthy, like Jasons Deli, etc (which we did a LOT at the beginning of this diet, and it worked well for me). I'll still be posting occasionally with updates, and will be trying to stick with the no new thing though.

This HAS definitely helped me thus far though, since I actually have money in savings! Thats never happened before...lol I'll keep adding to it and updating that ticker though. So feel free to check back for updates on that.

For those of you still with the frugal year, great job!!!

Accck been a few days

Sorry, ladies...I got so caught up in being sick and now AF that I haven't even thought much about my expenditures. I don 't think I've had anything too big. I know there was a Target run in there but that was for needed household supplies. I DID purchase D's new bedding, and including tax, shipping, and the money my grandma chipped in for his Easter gift, I was $4 over my budget, I paid $54 for it. That's not too bad!

We also broke a rule and I went by Taco Bell for our lunch today. I can't remember how much it was, but it wasn't much.

This next week will be off routine for us since D will be having his surgery on Tuesday so I can't promise I'll be regular on this but I'm sure going to try!!

Sick supplies

I did get out today long enough to take D to school, and slog by the store to get BRAT diet supplies, and mild comfort food. It was SO hard to not get all my comfort foods. But I stuck to Easy Mac, instead of a box of mac n cheese, plus popsicles, and BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast). I won't be able to EAT much of that today, as I've only had a bit of rice so far, but I'm taking it easy.

Total expenditures:

$20 - gas
$19.24 - grocery store

$39.24 - Total spent today

Monday and Tuesday combined

Monday, I broke a frugal year rule and ate out at lunch. When I've already done it once this month. In my defense it was with a friend I rarely see...does that count?

Total expenditures: $7.48 at Souper Salad

Tuesday, since I was at home sick all day, no money spent.

No money spent today

All we did was go to my grandma's house for lunch, and then go visit our friend Amanda, and then came home. My allergies were bothering me too much to do anything else.

Total expenditures today:
NADA

I did sell my coffee table that had been in storage at my gma's but haven't been paid for it yet (it went to a friend) so I can't post that amount yet til I get it.

Another purchase...this is used though...

I needed something to add to my workout to boost calories burned with DAM Biggest Loser starting soon, something I can do at home, so I found a used recumbent stationary bike on craigslist and went and bought it today. I do have a big item I'm selling which will pay for it, so its within rules.

Total expenditures today:

$20 - gas
$200 - exercise bike (pending item to be sold to cover that)

$220 Total spent today
